KISIKI HAI
'Kisiki Hai' is the Swahili name used in Tanzania for the English name Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR).
FMNR is a low-cost, sustainable land restoration technique used to combat poverty and hunger amongst poor subsistence farmers in developing countries by increasing food and timber production, and resilience to climate extremes. It involves the systematic regeneration and management of trees and shrubs from tree stumps, roots and seeds. FMNR is our number one method we use in environmental conservation.
F - Farmer
M - Managed
N - Natural
R - Regeneration
Equipping Leaders || Conserving Environment || Serving Communities
Through Training, Research, Consultancy and Initiation of Development Projects
LEAD Foundation is deeply committed to integrated approach that treats leadership formation, environmental conservation and action for community development as one package for the transformation of communities and their environment. One of the components of the package may be the leading element depending on the needs of the beneficiaries.

Equipping Leaders
``It is better to lead from behind...`` - Nelson Mandela
In every project we do we believe in the importance of local leaders in making the project a success. Before the inception of any project we usually conduct workshops to relevant leaders at different levels both from local government authority and central government as well as from public and private institutions.
Conserving Environment
``Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people`` - Franklin Roosevelt
Restoration of degraded area has become our key area of intervention at the moment and we see that it will still be the same for many years to come. This is due to the fact that the area where our organization is based - the central Tanzania, is highly affected by deforestation and desertification is approaching at an alarming rate.

Serving Communities
``You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals`` - Marie Curie
When doing our projects we have always been supporting communities on various development sectors apart from environmental conservation. From building village offices to providing desks for school children to improving health facilities and water services, we have been contributing to nearly every development sector in the communities.
